After all of the preparation at last the day has arrived for the Hay Festival 2017 and the sun is out! This year we had a new venue in a field off Fentonhouse Lane which made it easier for people to get to. We were very lucky with the weather and had sunshine for the first time in years.
The festival was opened by Councillor Mark Sutton and our MP Jeremy Lefroy very kindly attended and presented the prizes for the children’s painting competition.
The children had fun watching the Punch and Judy show and having a go on the coconut shy, whilst the grownups could relax with a drink at the bar or coffee and cake in the marquee
The Meadow Walks were led by Tim Coleshaw and Adam Dempsey and were well attended, with positive feedback that everyone enjoyed themselves.
We now start preparing for next year’s event and look forward to seeing you all there.
