On Sunday 4th June, 14 members of the friends group took part in a guided walk on Stiperstones. Although the weather forecast was not brilliant we were very keen to attend this long awaited event.
We were met by Simon Cooter, from Natural England, and spent a very interesting 2 hours walking across the hills. His immense knowledge alerted us to various birds, including red kite, to the varied flora on the hills and the origin of how the hills were formed.
This was followed by a very enjoyable cup of coffee and a slice of cake at the bog café where everyone agreed it had been a brilliant day and how lucky we had been not to have had any rain.
